Meet Blake Salter
Maple Program Supervisor

MapleHello!  My name is Blake Salter, and I’m extremely pleased to start my newest adventure here at CDSA.  I’m relatively new to the Seattle area, having moved here from Chicago in 2004.  There, I taught in a private Kindergarten and ran after-school and summer programs for 7 years.  Since my arrival to this beautiful corner of the country, I have worked in non-profit Early Childhood Education.  I’ve also had an opportunity to continue my own education, and to become active in advocating for quality child care and children’s rights.  I’m excited to have an opportunity to work for an organization that is committed to providing an excellent preschool program and care for older children during those important out-of-school hours; such programs are becoming rare, though the need for them is rapidly increasing.
When I’m not working, I enjoy creative endeavors, especially cooking, crafting and writing.  I spend a lot of time with friends and family (which usually involves food- I love to cook, but I live to eat!), read anything I can get my hands on, and obsessively devour crossword puzzles.  Music is my greatest passion, however, especially jazz and innovative modern music.  Fortunately, Seattle is a great city for live shows.
I am truly looking forward to working with the staff, children, and families of CDSA.  I’m always available for questions, concerns, jokes, limericks… just give me call or drop by!
