ATTENTION CDSA PARENTS:
CDSA school age and preschool programs will be closed whenever the Seattle Public Schools are closed. If the Seattle schools open one or two hours late, CDSA will also open one or two hours late.

In the event of extreme weather conditions, we are primarily concerned for the welfare of the children and our staff. It is safest to pick up your child early on those days.

The Parent Handbook and Preschool Parent Handbook is available for download. Please CLICK HERE to download a copy or please call (206) 726-7972 to receive by mail. The handbook contains information on:

Important Updates:

SUMMER DAY CAMP AT CDSA

CDSA School Age Parents, Summer is fast approaching and it is time to start thinking about Summer Day Camp at CDSA! We are encouraging all of our clients to sign up early as space is limited at many of our sites. As in years past, we will be offering school age enrollment on a weekly basis this summer. You may attend any or all of the 10 weekly sessions being offered. We do however request that you pre register by signing up for the weeks you plan to attend in advance. Our staffing is based on pre-registration. Without this pre-registration, your child is not guaranteed a spot, and may need to be turned away due to staffing constraints. We cannot stress this point enough; because we base staffing on projected enrollment, it is very important that you sign up in advance for the weeks you wish to attend. Summer camp begins on June 23. For private pay families, tuition for the first 3 weeks of June will be prorated at 75% of your usual monthly tuition. The week of June 23-June 27th will be charged at the Summer Camp rate. Tuition for Summer Camp for private pay families will be due on June 23rd for weeks 1-2 and July 7thth for weeks 3-6 and August 4th for weeks 7-10. City and DSHS subsidized client payments are due on the first of each month. For DSHS and City subsidized clients, please read the additional memo relating to your subsidies. Our tuition remains the same as last summer, $160 per week. Tuition is due in advance. Any student who has not paid by the Monday of their registered week will not be allowed to attend until payment is received. No exceptions will be made. We accept check or money order only, thanks. We are very excited about the CDSA Summer Day Camp Program. Our Program Supervisors have already outlined themes for each of the 10 weeks, and are busy fine tuning their activities. These are listed on the Summer Camp flyer /registration form. If you did not receive a copy of this flyer, you can pick one up from your Program Supervisor. Please turn in your registration form to your Program Supervisor as soon as possible. Remember to include your selected attendance weeks, to assure you have reserved your spot in CDSA’s Summer Day Camp 2008. We are looking forward to a great summer!

CDSA Summer Day Camp - City Subsidized Clients - March 17, 2008

The City of Seattle will be sending out a letter to all their clients regarding use of your subsidy during the summer break period.

Unlike last year, the City of Seattle will NOT be allowing parents to attend for only the period of time for which the dollar amount of the City subsidy covers, and not paying a co pay. If you do not wish to attend the full month during any portion of the summer program, you will need to have your subsidy award adjusted by the City of Seattle in advance. Without this adjustment you will be responsible for the entire amount of your co pay, regardless of your attendance within any month.

If you are planning a vacation this summer, and know that your child will be attending; for example, only two weeks in July, you must notify the city so they can adjust your award for that month. If you have not requested that adjustment, your co pay will be based on an entire month of service and payment will be required in full.

Please watch for a letter in your mailbox from the city further discussing this issue.

Please make sure that you have filled out and turned in your Summer Registration form. You will need to check off all the weeks you plan to attend. Unless you notify the City that you will not be attending the full Summer Program, you will be responsible for your full co pay each month, regardless of your attendance. Also, please remember that we use these registration forms to determine our staffing needs. It is extremely important that we know your anticipated summer schedule.

We at CDSA are very excited about the Summer Day Camp Program. With weekly themes already outlined, and more detailed plans in the works, we believe this will be our best summer program ever!

CDSA Summer Day Camp - DSHS Subsidized Clients - March 17, 2008

If your school age child is attending CDSA with a DSHS subsidy and will be attending our Summer Program, you will need to contact your caseworker to be sure your benefits are adjusted. Full day coverage is required during the summer months. (Please note: no changes are required for Pre School students.)

Co pays will be due as always on the first of each month. We will require a new DSHS award letter which indicates that your benefit has been increased from ½ days to full days for summer attendance. We cannot provide service during the summer break without this notification.

Please contact your caseworker ASAP, to make sure that your benefits are adjusted for the summer months.

Please also make sure that you fill out the Summer Registration form, including your planned attendance dates and return this to your Program Supervisor. This guarantees your spot in our Summer Program. Because we staff based on this registration, any student not registered may be turned away due to staffing constraints.

Thanks for all your help. We think this is going to be one of our best Summer Day Camp Programs ever, and hope you will join us for the fun!
